Now that UK vape shops are closed, its easy to run out of e-liquid.
We thought it would be a great idea to give you some tips on how to make your e-liquid last longer. This won’t only help during the lock-down, but it can also help in the long-run if you need to save money whilst vaping or even looking to reduce your monthly spend towards vaping. It can also help when you go home for the weekend and realise you only have a bit of e-liquid left in a bottle or even your tank.
Sub-ohm vaping:
High powered devices are fun and give you great control over your vape. But high-powered devices plough through e-liquid, especially at high wattages. Luckily, some tanks are compatible with higher resistance coils which can be vaped at around 30-50W.
Lower Power Output:
Lower the power output setting on your device. This can be done in wattage, voltage or temperature control. If you lower the power output, your coils will vaporise less e-liquid which means that your e-liquid should last longer.
Use Pod or Pen Vape Kits:
Kits that include a tank and mod require higher wattages and aren’t efficient on e-liquid. Choose a device that requires a low power output (vape pens and vape pods). The Smok RPM40 is a good option as you can put the 0.3ohm Mesh MTL coil and choose the power output. I personally use this set up with nicotine salts at 10W, the coil lasts me 2 – 3 weeks and a pod filled with e-liquid lasts 3 days.
High Resistance Coils:
Try using MTL coils or higher resistance coils than you normally use as this will use less power than low resistance coils. Low resistance coils require less power whilst gaining more flavour, more battery life and longer lasting e-liquid.
High Nicotine Strength:
We often think that when we reduce the nicotine strength we vape, we intake less nicotine. Maybe we are vaping more? In order to stretch your e-liquid, it would make sense for us to increase in nicotine strength so that we use less e-liquid in order to satisfy our nicotine cravings.
Nicotine Salts:
Consider switching to nicotine salts, they are available in 10mg and 20mg which can seem high in nicotine strength. However, the nicotine is delivered to the blood stream faster and gives a smoother throat hit. These can last longer as you will get your nicotine fix quicker and vape less.
If throat hit is important to you then stick with freebase e-liquid and increase the nicotine strength.
Airflow:
Airflow can impact on the amount of e-liquid used in your tank. Many vapers believe that when the tanks airflow is widely open, it allows more air to be pushed in which makes more e-liquid travel to the coil. When the airflow is more closed, you will require less wattage and less air which will give you a decent throat hit.
Summary:
We can see that there are different ways to use your e-liquid efficiently, but the most important ones are; use lower output, use higher nicotine strengths and if you can vape nicotine salt e-liquid.
